Calendar of Events

Watch Captains, if you want your local Watch Group meetings announced on this page, please email the IT Coordinator with the meeting information to have it posted both here and on our Facebook page (that is, if you want it on Facebook). It can also be announced over the Everbridge notification system if you want.

Upcoming Events

01/13/22 January Meeting

Our next regularly-scheduled meeting will be on Thursday, January 13, 2022, from  6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Parkersburg City Building, 1 Government Square. [MAP]

With the retirements of Parkersburg Police Chief Joe Martin on December 24, 2021 and Sheriff Steve Stephens on December 1, we will attempt to have the new Chief and new Sheriff as guests as soon as it can be arranged. With these two new leaders coming into office, it is extremely important that we demonstrate our support for law enforcement in our city and county by having a record turnout at our January meeting.

Watch Captains, if you want your group to continue in good standing, it is imperative that either you or your designated representative from your Watch Group be present at our meetings. Inactive Watch Groups will be dropped from the Co-op. Please bring or send a copy of your current Watch Group roster to this meeting so we can update our records, as we still do not have valid contact information for all members. We currently have 394 members on our roster, but only about 45 members are indicating that they are receiving our Everbridge notifications, so the accuracy of our roster is in serious doubt.

Neighborhood Watch Co-op Bi-Monthly Meeting

The regularly-scheduled Co-op meeting is at 6:00 pm on the second Thursday of every other month, usually in the Parkersburg City Building, 1 Government Square [MAP], but the location changes from time to time. The Wood County Sheriff’s Department and Parkersburg City Police attend our Co-op meetings to answer any questions you may have for your area. The Co-op will be available to assist in you in the establishment of a local Watch Group or to record issues of crime in your area to be passed onto the appropriate law enforcement agency. If you are a concerned citizen and your neighborhood is experiencing crime, then we hope you are able to attend our meetings to record and share your crime issues with the appropriate law enforcement agencies. If you have any questions concerning our meetings or our activities, please feel free to contact Co-op President Cindy Ware at (304) 483-4423 (cell/text)  or email her.

Regular and special meeting specifics will be posted here, on our public Facebook page, and in our private Facebook Group a week or so before each meeting, and notices will also be sent via the Everbridge notification system. We currently have 394 members on our roster, but only about 45 members are indicating that they are receiving our Everbridge notifications.
